Kentuckian:  I went to the same show.  Did you also go to the museum across the street?

Interestingly, on one of the "used cars for sale" tables, I found something labeled as an "N scale brass tank car kit".  It was actually a very old, and rather crude, car I built, probably about 40 years ago.  The old house was burgled 10 or 12 years ago, and they got a bunch of "abandoned" railroad stuff, items I left behind when we move to our new place, at the other end of the lot.  None of it was worth keeping, so I left it behind.  Some of it shows up, at nearly every show, so it was either sold of piecemeal, or has been traded around.

I probably wouldn't have paid much attention to an old, tarnished, brass tank car, except that t was lettered for my fictional mining companies fuel-hauling subsidiary.  If you ever see an MORX tank car, it's probably mine!  I left them brass-colored rather than painting them black because black alphabet decals and dry transfers were easier to find.  I could get them from the office supply store.

NO, I didn't buy it back.  I did describe the construction to the dealer, if anyone else is interested in it.

Can't put a price on it

NKP RPO-Baggage #359 (360?) before lettering. MTL cars bashed together and an 8-ft door from an old RR/Atlas heavyweight baggage. Had to reposition the stirrups.
I think the one thing that really defines if your activity is a hobby is you don't keep track of how much money and time you put into it, or pay attention to the aggravation it causes you. It's a hobby, dammit!!

And here's his brother NKP RPO-Baggage #361 -- still needs the mail hooks and rain gutters

I was also at the Morehead train show. This is the second year that the NMRA MCR Division 9 has participated. A year ago we just had a few modules. This year we had quite a few with most of them having completed scenery on them. My switching yard was the only one with track a year ago and now has a lot scenery.

I got to spend a good bit of time talking to many friends and to the general public and also to @Kentuckian who has a very nice module.

Here are a few pictures of my modules and another of Kentuckians:

Yes. I'm glad the city was able to take over the old freight station. It used to be a liquor store! I'm sorry I missed you, I had to be gone for a couple of hours in the middle of the day on Saturday.

The KATO E7s that come with the TCL set will be your best bet, if you don't mind waiting.

I was thinking the same thing :)

The Kato E7s are going to be NYC specific.

In what ways?

That's the big question.  Looks like there could be some differences with the side windows and vents.

I forgot to paint/decal the numberboards on those Frisco units:

Altohorn25, where did you get the Frisco E unit decals? I thought Microscale discontinued their set?

These are factory painted from Life-Like.  All I've done was add the numberboard decals.
