"led by an electronic locomotive that was built in 1948." I'll admit that most of today's locomotives could be considered "electronic", given the number of computers in them, but in 1948?

The H-L is owned by the same bunch that owns the Tri-City Herald, in Washington, that I am a subscriber to. Every article I try to read on the TCH website gives the same message - even though the page shows I'm logged in. Apparently McClatchy has decided that being a paying subscriber isn't good enough. Fortunately, I get the TCH by mail as well, so I read the dead-tree version.
I quit buying the H-L years ago, as they seldom had any news from eastern Kentucky, they quit offering home delivery where we live, and their in-state mail rate was much higher than the TCH's from the Northwest.
