@CRL - the flagpole is in the clear, the tree obstructing the view is on this side of the drive. And thanks, Mike!
A project is on the horizon. Reworking a plan seen here before, just with some extra real estate.
I also installed DCC/Sound/Keep-Alive and an LED headlight in an N-scale Oriental Limited PRR S1 6-4-4-6. I scored the S1 on eBay over the July 4th weekend.
A few of the Modutrak guys (4 of us) had part of the layout set up at the RPM meet in St. Louis on Friday and Saturday. I got to meet some of you in person for the first time. The layout ran great. I didn't get a chance to take any photos of the setup, but did take a quick video of my Milw Sprint Train on of of our corner modules (the lighting in the hallway we were set up in was not ideal). A fun show to display at as always. This train was started in the late 70's by the Milw to try to capture some of the truck traffic back from the highways between Chicago and St. Paul. 20 dedicated flats and two GP40's on a consistent schedule (they left each terminal on time no matter how many trailers were on the train - note the empty flats at the end of the train). By the time they discontinued this service, they were running 2-3 trains each direction each day if I remember correctly. They ran these on a fast schedule achieving speeds of 60-70 mph as they traveled through Wisconsin. />
Nice , what did you use to deaden the common drum effect we hear on many layouts ?
