I finished-up my scratch-built stone structure this week.

I also installed DCC/Sound/Keep-Alive and an LED headlight in an N-scale Oriental Limited PRR S1 6-4-4-6. I scored the S1 on eBay over the July 4th weekend.

A friend of mine in our local N club, Craig Rude, delivered today (about 8 months early!) on a 3D-printed model of UP's Kelso, CA station. This is a test fit after I corrected a couple of minor alignment bugs:

Filament deposition print in PLA medium. More in the GC&W layout thread.

Great job on the brick building. And that loco looks amazing! How does it run?

I've corrected the lack of a flag at the Keene Post Office and added a few more details...

And added a flag at Caliente as well!

I'm amused by your depiction of these locales. They certainly have evolved in 45 years. The general store/post office in Caliente was all but falling down back in the '70s, and the little store at Keene was a squeaky-screen-door shack you barely knew was there unless you were specifically looking for it at the bottom of the off-ramp.

OTOH, Hwy 58 then wasn't nearly the terrorizing drive of heavy, totally-too-fast traffic it is today. Yikes!  :scared:  (Where did all those people come from, and where are they going?)

How does the postmaster raise & lower the flag through that tree? Wouldn’t it get hung up?

Yes, I’m OCD.

A project is on the horizon.
Reworking a plan seen here before, just with some extra real estate.

Here's a video of the S1. The mech seems a little tight. Judging by the drivers, I don't think it has much, if any track time.

@CRL - the flagpole is in the clear, the tree obstructing the view is on this side of the drive.

And thanks, Mike!

Thanks Otto.  When in doubt, follow prototype photos.
