That looks like an out of focus BL2 in the last photo.

Congratulations on the golden spike.  Oh, good to see you got another ankle shot in there.  ;)

So, the "atmosphere" in the vicinity of Palmerton was due to emissions from the zinc plant plus the burning of loads of coal that originated along the Laurel Valley RR?
Hope the Laurel Valley has a crack legal staff.  :P

You're damn right!   :D
The layout is coming along very nicely.  Not surprising considering it is built in the N-Scale Master's house, and with his guidance.  ;)

After just two afternoons of work, the Palmerton is running. Here are a few images from its construction and the inaugural run...

You aren't really that far off. This is the first "layout" I have ever really been involved with, and a decent amount of the work is actually mine, and so is the layout itself. Call it a sense of accomplishment when, as DKS put it, your "plug-and-play" layout actually works the first time you try it. Watching the train run through and find the problem areas, as well as planning the scenes, well, it does put a smile on my face. Only problem with it is it makes me start imaging everything  want out of the layout, then slowly pruning it down to what is realistically achievable. That, and every time I play with the sales equipment, more and more of it end up in my "reserve" drawer...

I've spent years chasing that first high... lol.

Congrats.

Now just leave some good stuff for the rest of us!

Can do! Not like I can afford it all, anyway.

Build a T-Trak module with a Postage Stamp bus loop.

We are completely out of bus sets. I think the only thing we have left are two buses.
