I hope that it is true

That sounds reasonable - not sure why it wouldn't be true.  But then again, It is Internet and Facebook, so it could be "fake news".  :)

both are true although timelines are subject to change.

Hiroshi has wanted to make a Big Boy for a while now.

Enjoy!

Is this the same NYC 20th Century Ltd with E7s that they announced months ago, or a different 20th Century Ltd?

I assume it is the same Big Boy Kato announced a few days ago just before Athearn announced theirs....

Kelley mentioned, back on May 1st, that the 20th Century Ltd. was coming in 2020.  Why would it be different than the one mentioned at that time?

He also hinted at a Kato-made Big Boy back in February.

Not sure  if any of the later-mentioned Big Boys would be any "different".

Athearn is covering the Big Boy very thoroughly . I would rather see a FEF-1 aka FEF or a 4-12-2 or a 2-8-8-0 , But the most ideal choice for large UP passenger or freight steam is the 4-8-2 Mountain in gray and gray , gray and yellow , or black . Ideal for most N scale layouts . Unique look , covers 1956 and earlier .http://www.snowcrest.net/photobob/upl48.jpg

Same 20th Century as mentioned previously, with E7a and E7b as motive power.

Any indication of how many cars will be in the train?

Hopefully, they'll release two roadnumbers on the A unit.

I don't believe they have ever gave car number amount, but hopefully its in the count of 15 or 16 cars.

Or they will do like before on the SF Fs and MILW FP7s and offer alternative numberboards.

Not an option, since the NYC had roadnumbers painted on the sides of the units:

Ah yea, that wouldn't work then, apologies. Myself, I'm hoping for A-B-B arrangement. So here's hoping to two AB sets for numbers.

Wow another BigBoy (grumpy cat voice).

It will be a marvel of modem Japanese engineering (and will almost certainly be put together without a drop of glue). And Mr. Kato likes Big Boys, especially made by Kato.  Hey, if I ran a large model RR manufacturer capable of producing good quality models of steam engines, I would want my own Big Boy too.  :)

I'm also "meh" about this, but it is not up to me to decide what is manufactured by which company.  I would have rather seen a Dreyfus Hudson to go with a 1930's version of the 20th Century Ltd.
