Sweet!  I haven't seen 611 in person since 1994.  Holy crap!  That was a quarter-century ago!

Gotta get up there in the coming month! I won't ride it - can anyone suggest good viewing spots?

Great to see it will be under steam again. Many memories of chasing it and 1218 back in the '80s.

Yeah, I happened to catch 611 coming off of the Amtrak line a few weeks ago on a webcam.  I wanted to run by Strasburg to see it, but it appears that it's indoors receiving maintenance.  So, I don't know if you can see it now or even until the excursions.

For good viewing spots, there's a few grade crossings east of Strasburg that are probably your best bet, but they may be packed with foamers.

If you can't be there in person, you can try to catch sight of the 611 on the Strasburg live webcam:

She's there now. Was going to ride the bike up today but side tracked doing too much propeller work.

Funny that you mention it - I was thinking of coming by bike to make access to certain areas easier.

The 611 is running this weekend and, as noted above, you can catch sight of it periodically on the Strasburg webcam.

Guess what I’m doing right now.  I’ll give you a hint . . .

Cynthia, Aly, and I are riding behind 611 at Strasburg.
