P42 ABA Set

Decided to build a P42 ABA Set in Alaska Railroad 1990s livery.  Fantasy, but ABA Set will look great pulling my fifteen custom ARR SuperLiners. Have two P42s with DCC TCS KOD8-A DCC, plus a P42 DC. I've ordered a TCS KOD8-A from Yankee Dabbler for DC unit. I will kitbash one of the AMTRAK P42s with a shell purchased from KATO USA. I have photos taken off the net and Train Boards (always a great source of information) for the conversion. Hope to start as soon as I strip the shells.

I love what-if passenger equipment.   Can't wait to see what your P42 B-unit looks like.

Ordered a TCS KOD8-A Decoder from Yankee Dabbler on Monday and received it today. Now all three will have similar DCC boards. I plan to give the three the same number, and run as an ABA set (until I decide to make a second B and have a ABBC set).  It will be storming tomorrow, so may start on the B construction.

Ordered from KATO two sets of Pilots (922163) and two sets of MU Hoses (934080) for the converted P42 B (bought extras in case I make second B). Also ordered six pairs of El Capitan 3 Axle Silver Trucks with couplers (800122) for converting the Bachmann Full Domes that I have. The finished consist won't be prototypical of Alaska RR, but should look great.

Received parts order from KATO. Now I have rear pilots, and MU hoses for B unit. Also six pairs of 3 axle trucks for domes.
