Rapido speculation

The latest Rapido newsletter (vol. 109) has a blurb about "the biggest Canadian N scale announcement ever" in which they are going to announce 5 new "Canadian" models in June, with delivery over the next two years. I would have thought his would generate endless Railwire speculation...

I also hoped that it might be a steam loco, but the background drawing (which I suppose is a hint) in a full page ad in the N-Scale magazine seems to show what looks like Diesel radiator fans (not any steam loco bits).

In late June we will be launching five new Canadian N scale projects all at the same time, to be delivered over two years with staggered order deadlines and delivery dates so you don't have to pay for them all at once. We will have samples of some of the new products and drawings of others. You'll be able to track the progress of these exciting projects through their development and delivery.

Top 5 exciting Canadian projects, according to me....
1 CN 4-8-4
2 CN 4-8-2  (not too picky on specific model ofeither these or 4-8-4, since I will need to detail them for GTW in any case)
3 CN diner  (recently done in HO)
4 C-Liners  (not for me, as far as I can tell they never pulled a train to Chicago, but they are handsome locos in CN colors)
5 Green sleeper (6-4-6)- I have it on good authority this will NEVER happen.  But who knows.

The only one of those I see as remotely probable is the diner.

That said, although I would not personally have an interest, I suspect an MLW FPA-2 or one of the CN or CP Pacifics they may be doing in HO would be popular.

The only surprise in the pre-announcement of the coming announcement of the announcement is that they are pre-announcing Canadian vs NH announcements.

If I were to guess, I'd suggest N scale versions of things they've done in HO like the 3800cuft covered hopper.

I guess this means NO N NH streamlined parlor cars, or any  streamlined other than the coaches, for that matter.  :(

Folks,

They do have a 6 axle diesel locomotive platform in the form of the U25C. This could be a starting point for a M630/M636 which are (largely) Canadian locomotives.
Just sayin'....
