Must be my uncaffeinated eyeballs, but your road looks a little ... speckly? Not a real dealbreaker for the 3 foot rule, but noticeable in photos.

Keen observation from the scientist among us...

Yes, the road surface is colored using several mists of spray paint, usually flat black, flat gray, and sometimes a bit of earth tone.  It's to capture the essence of worn asphalt, where the tar is worn away to expose more of the aggregate.

A bit of weathering might tone it down a bit.  But I've got a lot of other $h!t to do between now and Friday!

must be a different aggregate down here - ours goes uniformly light grey as it ages.

Carry on.

Indeed it likely is.  It's always whatever adequate rock is reasonably local.

In situ during N Scale Weekend.  I gotta get the damn lights fixed.

Moving west, we head up the Narrows, our local interpretation of the lovely DKS "Dauphin" module

And the New Kids on the Block, the twin bridges at the west end of the Narrows, featuring the abandoned Cumberland and Pennsylvania bridge across Wills Creek.

Altogether now!

Thanks again to @Dave Ferrari and @MK and all the other organizers who bring together the Combined TTrak layout and make it work.

No problem Lee @wm3798 !  The electrical issues we had during Saturday morning were a doozy!!!!  Never had to spend that much time to find it and figure it out.  But at the end, everyone was running trains and all problems were forgotten!  :)

A nicely weathered train on a nicely weathered bridge, good stuff!
