I'm starting to wonder what the advantage will be in keeping the patchwork MTL body, especially since the cupola and frame are now both already 3D printed. (And likely could be improved upon by someone with a Photon). Why not just get the whole thing 3D printed? Then you'd be able to come closer to the prototype at the same time. Just sayin...

I would consider that project as it's something I will eventually be wanting in my plans. 8)

Well... I had the caboose body.

I don't have a drawing for the caboose body.

However, it sounds like there might be interest in one.

I sure won't complain about that!

Sweet. What do you need to make it happen?

Sweet. What do you need to make it happen?

Samples?  Drawings?  What you know or envision this should be.  Detailed interior?  And then those drawings?  I'm NOT an expert on these details but I can make things when I know what I need to make. 8)  Maybe a PM is in order. 8)

I checked the Gazette and no drawings. Supposedly there is a Ma & Pa plan book though. I do have drawings for just about all their steamers.

Finish your "proof of concept" model as best you can.  You gotta have a prototype.

If it ends up too rotten, put it in the weeds behind the roundhouse and grow moss all over that bad joint.  That's the Ma & Pa Way!

If not, does it have scaleable photos?

Isn't this caboose you want just a PRR ND? Won't the above drawing do? There are others of ND and NC at that same site. For PRR,
drawings abound!

Briefly looking at an onlone photo of a MA &PA bobber it doesn't look like you're far off.  Without having a micrometer, drawings and the model at hand it looks like you are very close.

I model the Ma & Pa in N scale also and have been checking out your Ten Wheeler build and the caboose build. I've been wanting to do the Ten Wheeler for a while, get back on it and show me how so I don't make any mistakes. In appreciation I'll share with you a little info on caboose 2006. I happen to have a HO kit by Funaro & Camerlengo that I bought back in 2010. Here's a photo of the kit and the beginnings of my N scale version. Back in the early 90's I bought the Gloor Craft kit but found the dimensions were off a bit so I made a body from styrene and used the kit windows, doors and cupola. The undercarriage was from a Bachmann bobber that still needs some tweaking but it does give me the trucks I needed. Also here is a picture of a reasonable Ma & Pa caboose 2005 made from a Bachmann bobber. The undercarriage is from a casting I made out of the Shapeways part. Mine was so brittle and fine that it warped all to hell so I made a master out of it for a RTV mold.

Oh man! I didn't realize you were lurking here!

I was just discussing your beautiful layout with @jpec . Maybe I'll go get back to one of these projects now. It's just so easy to just veg out and watch Youtube all night.

Ok, shamed from snoozing... I applied some putty.

Not bad. Need to do a little sanding and see how it looks with some paint.
