The results were as follows:

This poll was open from 2/19/2019 until 3/29/2019
Total votes: 3113

4-8-8-4 Union Pacific Big Boy #4014 27%
Milwaukee Road "Little Joe" Electric Locomotive 25%
Union Pacific DD40AX 18%
LORAM Rail Grinder 18%
Milwaukee Road Bi-Polar Electric Locomotive 13%

Now we'll  have to wait and see what Kato produces.  Well, we sort of know it will be the Big Boy - this poll just reaffirms their choice.

The Kato rep told me that with the resources they used to get the FEF to market, they could have made three new diesels.

Even though I've got a few of the Big Boys from Athearn, I'd buy one from Kato.
You can never have too many Big Boys.  :D

Not surprising at all, but steam locos are also needed in N scale.  They can't all be diesels.

I just hope the DD40AX follows the BigBoy as the diesel they produce. Bachmann's rendition is a piece!

There's lots of stuff in the works.   :)

At any given point Kato is working a couple of years out on production planning although things tend to change quite a bit.

For the North American market, the 20th Century Limited is certainly coming, but not until 2020 due to the amount of tooling resources available.

There are a bunch of smaller projects in the works also (new, rerun, modified, etc) including one I helped get pushed through that I'm pretty proud of that should have a teaser announcement at NSC I *think*.  (granted, I already expect a few *harrumph* my wallet is safe comments when that gets announced.   :P  )

Aside from that, once I get my new shop up and running after a move, you'll probably see quite a few more Kobo sound offerings in N scale (currently, about half of the available product line is offered with Loksound...I'd like to get that up to ... most of it).

Ah well...back to my corner of the internet.

Enjoy!

Kelley.

Great news on the 20th Century Limited! Hopefully with E7A/Bs and Creek series observation?

Hopefully one of those smaller projects is a rerun of straight radiator SD70Ms! (If not, any truth to the molds for that model being broken and therefore most likely never ran again?) These things are starting to creep up in price towards insanity on feebay in prices pushing close to $500 for a solo SP SD70M.

Attempting to model a modern Southern Pacific based in 2015/2016...

Also, I have a passenger train addiction...
