Upcoming Micro-Trains 993 01 765 Weathered TTX Well Car Release Question

Contemplating the purchase of the Micro-Trains 993 01 765 weathered TTX well car set that is due to be shipped in mid-February, but have no need for the six models that have graffiti.

Anyone interested in splitting up one of these sets, with my acquiring the the ten cars without the graffiti and the interested party acquiring the six graffiti cars?

I take it you don't model the Los Angeles/Long Beach area...those are standard paint schemes down there....   

If no one takes you up on it, the individual graffiti cars usually sell pretty well on that site we don't like to mention that starts with an e....or at least enough to cover the expenses they suck from you.

It's quite possible that there is graffiti on the other side of the one that show any ....

Actually, these will not be used for what I plan on modeling, the Fairview Container Terminal, Port of Prince Rupert, British Columbia and possibly, the Prince Rupert, Grain LTD. facility.

While I might be wrong, have not yet come across any photos of TTX well cars (or for that matter grain hoppers) bearing graffiti in Canadian train consists.

My beef with this MT offering is I rarely see 16 non articulated well cars in succession. The single cars are most often mixed in between 3 car sets and spline cars these days.

How long will N scale continue to suffer under a lack of ready to run 53 foot well cars? The Kato ones are hard to find at non sniper inflated EBay prices.

Yes, the MT cars are usually different on each side, and if they were really thinking, they might only tag one side of each car (probably proto anyway, since taggers go along the outside of a rail line)

I have bought several MT weather/graffiti cars and chuckle at the time I spend thinking about which side I want pointed out (as I have no reverse loops) And to think, in the old days, before 12-24 multiple road numbers,  we used to renumber just one side of a coal car to run in same direction unit trains.

Micro-Trains has finally (almost) stopped putting garish graffiti on 80's and prior era models, and of late they've even exhibited some constraint on some newer stuff, but I would be highly suspect of these cars having that subtlety.   The weathered-only/lightly graffitied sides do look great though...one can only hope.

Having said that...if I were still in N-scale, I would probably be attempting exactly the same deal.  Good luck.   

And for the record, I think a 16-pack is dumb weird.   For cars other than a true unit-train car like a coalporter, ethanol/crude tank, etc., more than two four is annoying...8 is bleeding your customer...and 16 is "our hobby shops are tired of us dumping stuff on them, so we're going straight for our retail customers."   In Z, having to almost continually buy 4 cars just to get one is exasperating.

Actually the 16 packs are huge sellers for us.  We also offer these cars as singles.  Obviously the market wants the large sets and continually ask for more.

And there I was thinking that tagging was an urban American phenomenon...

Certainly did not expect to see tagged rolling-stock in the wilderness of British Columbia.

I'll second that...

A variety of ready-to-run 40' and 53' well-cars depicting different manufacturer prototypes would certainly be welcome in N-Scale.

While you may well be correct, Canada (and especially Toronto) has been a hotbed of graffiti since the 80's.  But Toronto doesn't have all the fun... http://archive.massappeal.com/bc-graffiti-richmonds-hidden-walls-train-yards-and-freights    So, be proud of your homeland...no reason to let the US get all the glory!!!
