Great Price on Dremel Micro (cordless) - Two Days Left

If you live near a Menards home improvement store (upper Midwest, basically), they are running a "bag sale" this week, 15% off everything you can fit in one specially-marked paper bag, a full-sized grocery store-style bag. Plus, they have the Dremel Micro cordless on unadvertised sale for $69.95 until the end of January. Combine this with the bag discount and this pretty nice Dremel is out the door at $60. Unfortunately for those not near a Menards the bag sale is in-store only.

I use my Micro every day, and haven't touched my corded Dremel in... gosh... years. IIRC, the Micro was slightly north of $100 back when I started building the layout. So I picked-up another today as a spare or as a second to reduce bit changes when deep in a project. If you've been on the fence about getting one, or want a spare, now is the time.

@C855B , does the unit accept, and is it strong enough to power the flexible extension attachment?

I don't think so, but no mention either way in the manual. The Micro has a compact body and I surmise that the design was intended to live in that space between the full-size 110VAC versions and using the flex shaft for close-in work.

I use a cordless Dremel my dad bought back in the nineties, so it's probably about 25 years old, and it still has its original battery and still works perfectly normally.

I suspect that the current model uses a Lithium/Ion battery where the old one probably used NiMh batteries.

Doesnt seem to give the 69.99 sale price on web orders. I don't live anywhere near a store.

Did you go all the way through to the checkout? Apparently Dremel has a "minimum advertised price" dealer requirement and cannot display any discount pricing until the prospective purchase is at the final step. The $69 price was confirmed after entering shipping address but before the payment/confirmation page.

You are right, Peter. I tried several fake addresses (actually, old addresses) all over the country. The sale price even before the bag is in-store pickup only. Even if I had it shipped to my current address within miles of a store, it was their "normal" price at $89. Apologies for getting your hopes up.

One odd thing I ran across is they can't ship it to California at any price, it apparently has prohibited Proposition 65 content. Didn't realize that law was more than a moronic warning label.

Unless I’m looking at a different product, it’s $67 on Amazon.

Interesting. If Menards is not permitted to advertise at that price, what is it that allows Amazon to? Because they're Amazon? :x
