Another question for the Amtrak people out there: are the trucks dark enough, or should they be painted say an "engine black" color? For some reason they don't look right to me, but I'm not around these cars enough to really know.

That looks like fresh from the manufacturing plant. So after a while the grey turns into....?
. . . grimy/rusty gray! Don't forget to paint the springs red. Kato missed that detail.
You wont see the red for long, so why bother.
I was just making a joke, since the questions were about the truck coloring.
