MT becomes the third company in a year to do green Hub Group 53 footers in N.  lol

AFAIK Kato containers all have the same number if delivered together. (E.g. the six containers delivered with MAXI-IV well cars.) They changed this a few years ago.

You're right, but Kato isn't one of the other two companies.   Those are Scale Trains and Atlas.  Kato should do their exterior post box (not the corrugated one) in this scheme and also the white Hub Group scheme (i.e. patched over BNSF logo).

My guess? These boxcars are the first to feature the new underslung trucks. Maybe with a 2004 coupler?

If you use BLMA trucks on a MT boxcar, the underside of the floor is at the right height for a 1015 or 1025 coupler.  If the new MT trucks have the same bolster height, all the floor would need is a new mounting hole to use one of those couplers.  Or, as others have pointed out, the existing rear hole is in the right place for a longer-shank 1016 coupler.

I saw it fine on my iPad a few days ago but now I’m getting what you’re getting. It does the same thing in Chrome on iOS as well.

Personally I’m most exited about the new 00-90 tap with a proper square end for a tap handle. I’ve been looking for one for a while without success.

Must be an iOS thing - I just tested it in Google Chrome on my Microsoft Surface and it comes through fine.

You can tell a new MT drill and tap pack is coming soon - MTS has their current stock on sale.

I suspect that the door openers were added after the cars were repainted.  Most of the 1970s pictures I could find didn't have them, while those taken in the 80s usually did.  I couldn't find them on any of the cars from 1974 or earlier, so I'll skip that model.

Had the same problem, this should fix it:
Settings> Safari> Advanced> Web Site Data> find and delete micro-trains. (Swipe the line with micro-trains to the left and the delete button will appear)
Close Safari then relaunch.

If you are talking about the Chessie box, the openers don't come attached.

I must concur with Bryan.  A lowered car and body mounted couplers are a great improvements. But added to a car that is flawed when a correct car is available,  well, the athearn car still wins for me.  I hope MT continues this trend with its accurate cars.  And (presumably) the  new trucks should be useful for other projects.

Mark:  I noticed that, but since I couldn't use them, all I would have is a Chessie PS-1.  Since I don't need one, having enough C&O cars for my Montana BN, there's no point buying it.  If the openers had been used in my era, I would have bought the car, as it would be a unique addition to my roster.

Does anyone know when door openers were introduced, and when they became common?
