Metal Wheelset Incompatibility

As for plastic wheels VS Metal; Plastic MT Low Profile wheels are a molded one piece component and very little chance of being out of gage or not assembled on the axel correctly.
I do run metal wheels (FVM) as well and was in the process of converting to metal low profile wheels when I had to disassemble the layout for the 3 time and put it in storage and never finished converting all of my cars.

Be it as it may, some modelers simply prefer metal wheels.

My layout is a decade old, and I was surprised how much "stuff" started acting up when the weather cooled and the humidity dropped here in New York State. 

As far as wheelsets, love metal wheelsets but find them to be far more fluky than plastic.  Really like the Atlas browns... Seem to behave very well on Atlas code 55.
