Fairly productive week for me.
I’ve been attending Prof. Peteski’s online GE Locomotive Improvement course this week. Unfortunately, I failed the first lab: After obtaining more material, I did finally pass. I didn’t take a photo of the completed truck modification but I was successful the second time. I also installed true scale couplers and what may have been the last TCS MZA4 decoder made. Weight was added to the cab for a total weight of 46.8 grams. This is a future Kentucky Electric Steel switcher.

Mark, how can I get some of the tank detail packs? I purchased one each of the three sets so I would need enough for 15 tanks.
Working on new grade crossing on odd industrial road that opens up to full two-lane highway:
I’ve almost managed to shoehorn an ESU 73100 decoder in my GP18. I used a Soberton 8x12 speaker in a styrene box. I should have taken a picture before I put the shell on, but it’s a very tight fit and I’m not going to take it off just for a picture. It’s installed, the engine runs well and sounds great, but the cab won’t fit. The front end of the decoder is right inline with where the front of the cab should be. Not a problem for a high hood, but less than ideal for a low nose. I’m going to cut out the front window of the cab and replace it with clear styrene. If I then add a couple of strips of white decal to the top and the bottom it should look ok. Then I’ll need to make it look like it hasn’t had a wash in five years. Even with the cab problem I’m quite pleased with how my first N scale sound installation is going.
Chuck, where did you get those Jersey concrete barriers?
