Broadway just dropped a photo on their Facebook page...

I guess I'm in for a few of these depending on what roads they produce.

Wow!  Another Mikado!  And it is not PRR prototype - generic baby! How cool!  :|

Hmmm. If they also have a Vandy tender, maybe.

Great, another heavy USRA mike.
Of all the possible steam locos to do, let's do one we already have.
To me, the only good news here, and it is good, is that BLI keeps betting on N scale steam and appears to have gotten their new electronics into a much smaller package. That bodes well for other, smaller power...

Road names would be cool, beside GN.

Ho hum.  So, is it remotely possible to doll one of these up to look Santa Fe ish? (the railroad, not the wheel arrangement) Or should I just forget it and put the bucks into more Kato F units?

I'm surprised that nobody yet has defended their choice because Kato Mikado has been long out of production, so we can use another one.  :)

I`d agree plus a new model with all that nice DCC/Sound.

Plus hopefully they`ll make an L1. Though a 2-10-4 would have been awesome

This is one I may actually consider buying depending on the road names. The others were cool, but to east coast specific for me.

Agreed.  I would really like to see a 2-10-4.  The PRR brass ones are quite pricey when they appear on eBay.  As a bonus, the 2-10-4 could be decorated in roads other than PRR to satisfy the non-SPF foamers.

Hopefully BLI keeps churning out new steam.  1 or 2 new steamers a year would be pretty awesome.

I actually thought their next steam project might be an NYC J1 Hudson - but I will second the notion that this is a good thing for them to keep cranking out N scale steam.  I could probably scrounge enough Kato Mikes from eBay for the P&LE, but it never hurts to have options!

Thought they were doing a PRR 2-8-0.

Yeah, this is a good choice. the USRA heavy Mike is the GP9 of the steam world. Plenty if room for everyone.

The Riv version is old as dirt and the mechanism was not really good (I like the shell though).

Kato made, what two runs? And that's it.

MP/MRC is the light version.

So, yes, I think there is plenty of room for a well detailed good running heavy 2-8-2.

Just curious, would the shell work for a 4-6-2 as well?

Thought they were doing a PRR 2-8-0.

Them doing a PRR H-class in N requires a much bigger shoehorn to fit their flawed HO decoders into such a small tender.

Apparently all that "Rolling Thunder" nonsense takes up a lot of room, hence why their N-scale offerings have been larger locomotives. And that is precisely what Ken Sylvestri told me.
When I then posed the thought that perhaps they could just exclude the "Rolling Thunder" so that they could offer the H-class in N, Ken just got more uppity and dismissive.

It was at that point that I swore off ever buying any BLI product as new. If I ever own anything BLI it'll be either inherited or bought secondhand (and promptly gutted of it's inferior decoder and suitably upgraded with more appropriate hardware).
