Has a decent Esso 8k tanker ever been built?

A new bit of operations work planned for my layout is delivery to an Esso distribution center in Ohio. I have both MT and IM 8k tankers in many flavors, but have never seen an Esso or perhaps Sohio or Standard Oil tanker - whatever name is appropriate for the transition era. Aside from a repaint and decal any suggestions?

Unfortunately that is a Standard Oil not Esso... I have found lots of European Esso tankers, nothing from MT or Intermountain...

Nothing a little paint stripped sparingly applied and a few decals can’t fix.

It will have to be a DIY decal, and good luck with that, even the custom decal vendors (who can print white from your files) are not going to mess with that particular corporate hammer.

Apparently there was a UTLX car with ESSO markings on it that I found in a search. A rather small shot but
unable to see the original shot that was listed on EBay back in 2015 being sold as an 8X10 print.

The only Manufacturer that MAY have done it might be an early Arnold/Rapido car possibly. I've never seen one.

Be sure to read the Wikipedia article mentioned above: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esso . Even after Esso was dropped as a retail image, it was kept as a trademark for active product specifically to keep it out of the public domain.

In the US, Esso became Exxon in the early 70s.

This is a European tanker with buffers that's nearly identical to the North American version.

Arnold may have made a tanker as well--will check. Meanwhile, Microscale made some Esso decals that may or likely may not be useful:

Clarification - was thinking of Standard Oil of Ohio (Sohio). Actually, what I need are tankers that would be appropriate at what is labeled on Sanborn 1949 maps as ESSO Distribution Facility. I am assuming that is a facility that moves product from tank cars to trucks...

At the time I was modeling, 1949ish, all references to the company buildings I am modeling are Esso.

Anyone got a WAG as to why Esso tank cars have never been modeled in the US but have been modeled by several manufacturers in Europe? Is it IP? Or did Esso tank cars never exist in the US?
