:o

This.

That is just insane. I had to look really hard to find any aliasing.

And what little aliasing was there looked like wood saw marks.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, but the sags under some of the horizontal overhangs is odd.  I wonder if the supports at those spots flexed when the print was dipped back into the resin.

Other than that, very nice. T&G grooves look great.

Tried it in grey and tilted (took over 9 hours to print) You can see some banding on the door (that doesn't show on the other side). This is raw with no primer, but it looks like some detail is lost when using grey. Some of the sagging is gone, but the ladder rungs seem to have sagged more?

Also I added 3 "holes" under the running board to help drain the resin out while printing. You can clearly see the 3 spots, so I'll fill them back in.

And someone on FB made a whole new z axis with a double row of slides.

What was the first attempt printed in? It looks grey also.

Clear orange (actually yellow, about the same as the green that comes with the machine.) sprayed with primer.

So I'm printing the boxcar again. I filled the holes in the roof and changed some very small details. This time I rotated and tilted it about 5 degrees each. Also using Mark's settings for grey at .05 layers. This is my first time trying .05. See what happens.

I saved the file for grey at .02 layers and orange at .02 layers so maybe we can compare.

So sitting at work pondering why I get build line on the ends of models. They only seem to be there when I tip the model slightly. So the build lines are the screen resolution. Each step is a pixel. A pixel is 47 microns or .0018". And printing flat level lets more parts sag. I need to find a way to scrape the edges of sags and just live with that. I don't know of another machine with a higher res screen either.

I have heard that Anycubic is working on a Photon with a 4k screen.  Hopefully, they will sell a kit to convert 2K machines.

That would be great! Also heard the screens don't last long, but that seems odd considering how long cell phones work.

OK so I printed like 5 of these boxcars updating and trying to fix the door on one side. Even though both sides are the same I kept getting lines on the door, but only on one side of the car. Other side was fine. This bottom boxcar was the best out of 5:

The top car is the same exact repaired file, but it was sliced with ChiTuBox instead of the Anycubic slicer. So maybe my triangle problem all along has been the slicer??

Have to get used to the new slicer though because I made the attachments to the body to large and it left chips along the bottom edge. So I gotta print it one more time    Running out of resin...   :scared:

I've been dreading when I'll have to change the FEP film.  Tonight that moment came, and it was incredibly easy!

The decision came after my third print in a row with a partial failure in the exact same spot.  Parts were being ripped from supports, however it was a noticeably different result than when there are just too few supports over a large exposure area.  In one instance, it ripped a huge chunk of the part out!

The files printed perfectly many times before, so something was clearly wrong.  Time to drain the vat and inspect.

Yep, pretty big issue on the FEP.  The normal area is slick to the touch, that spot is very rough and felt kind of frosted. Features that would easily make resin stick instead of release.

So I began the process of replacing the film.  Pretty straight forward and un-eventful, and now I'm back ta perfect vat!

Also got my last boxcar print, came out good. And this is what it looks like when you mix green with grey  :D

Looks like it drills OK.  What about tapping?
