I took a square to my Photon today and my lead screw and platform guides are definitely leaning forward.  Going to have to see how comfortable I am taking this thing down to try and plum it.

So this is what all I did since the last post.

Opened the rear. USB was plugged in solid and tight.

Took out the vat and cleaned the plate. Did a dry print. Worked fine no re-sets at all.

Re-zeroed the plate. Did a dry print, no VAT. Worked fine, but when it came down for the first burn I could no longer slide a piece of paper under it even though I just zeroed it so paper would just slide.

Took the 4 screws that hold the plate on off. Under that there are 3 screws that hold the leveling ball, they were all loose! Tightened them, put the plate back on. Zeroed the plate. Did a dry test, first burn paper slid under just like my zero.

Right here at 42 seconds you can see the 3 screws. I didn't take my apart any further though:

Put the VAT (full of resin) back in and press play. Works fine.

Guess like anything from China you have to re-assemble it first.

I bought the mini milling machine from Harbor Freight and had to level the lead screw before using. I put a drill chuck in it with a dial indicator so I could spin it around by hand and measure 4 corners. I used some shim stock from work to get it level.

I haven't checked the Photon for level, but I would believe it if it wasn't. This whole machine is built pretty simple so I wouldn't worry about "going in".

It is running now. I won't see the print for another 4 hours though.

I loosened up the four screw that hold the vertical rail and cut a couple 'L' shaped shims from .010" brass stock, put them under the front of the rail and tightened it all back up.  The rail is almost dead nuts vertical now.  Hopefully there's no extra pressure in the lead screw that will create a wobble or bow.  Going to try and get a print in tonight.

Wow, really hope everyone's Photons start working as expected. 
User related/learning curve is one thing, but these are definitely some mfg QC issues.

The only non-user issue I've had is the ventilation fan stalling upon startup, solved by a simple power cycle reset.

  Mine is running OK now.

I have the off time set to 1.5. That chart I posted on page one with all the resins, most all of them are between 1 and 2 seconds.

 You can set it at whatever and until you get up to 6.5 for the off time,, you'll have false printing time in the slicer.

 Mine just started a 4 hour, 35 minute print of 2 '54 IH stake trucks that I hope I scaled right for N scale.

I wouldn’t mind seeing an H12-44.

 I found these on the web and decided to see if they would print. First I brought them into shetchup and scaled them down as far as sketchup would go, then exported the STL file. Brought the STL file into Photon slicer and scaled them to 2.20%, and sliced.

 The one or the right is on a penny and the other is on a dime. I knocked off part of the A post on the tanker when I was washing it a IPA.










 




  They are just too small for me to get good photos.

  Here's the stake truck, scaled close to N scale. You can see on the driver side front tire, I missed a support that went through the tire.
But other than that, it printed beautifully.
