Here are some steam cylinders at different angles. The squared off angular look is from Sketchup not the Photon.

Chris, If you drew these cylinders up in sketchup, you can get a lot more curvature in them. In sketchup, when you start using a circle, look down in the lower left and you'll see how many sides it is set for. Before you start drawing, back space and set it for what you want, I usually set it for 96 or 148 deepening on what I'm doing with it

I usually set the circles for 72 sides for some reason. It is a pain to have to do this with every circle. There is no way to change the default  :|

Yea, I know what you mean. I just a pain in a$$ to do it all the time and I've forgot a few times and had to go back and redraw, as I'm sure you have too.

I took a good whiff of the resin in the bottle before work tonight and I don't see what the big deal is.  I could barely smell it.   The cleaning IPA will smell worse. But then I 've been in laboratory settings for most of my adult life so maybe those olfactory cells are long gone.  Maybe it's worse  in a the vat being used?

I'm wondering just what is so bad about this resin?  After a print I leave the plate rest at 90 degrees till no more resin drips. Then I grab it a put a piece of cardboard under in case it drips more. Move to the basement sink and scrap the parts off the plate right into a small bowl of IPA. So far all of this is without gloves and no mess. I put gloves on to grab the parts in the IPA and scrub them with a brush. And yes a good whiff of the IPA is much worse than the resin. After cleaning the parts I wipe off the plate with a dry paper towel and then another dipped in IPA. Now I take the gloves off.

Will the resin burn your skin?

BTW someone on FB posted this link to 2 gallons of IPA for $37:

I think I'll be fine buying at Walmart.

And I just checked the highest number of segments it will do is 15 for a .139" radius.

The Railwire should get a commission for having sold so many Photons...

They're back in stock at Amazon. $519.00 with a $70 off coupon and free 2 day shipping if you're Prime (at this instant, delivery on Monday if ordered within 7hrs 11min).

I want one so bad but I'm a gadget junkie so it's probably best I wait..

Someone on FB said there was a flash sale on resin on Amazon in the UK. Don't know if that is in the US as well.

I think you can only use one of those coupons at once though.

I'm seriously annoyed with my post office right now.  Package number one from amazon was "handed off directly," only it wasn't to me.  Amazon ships me a free replace, expedited shipping, *and the same thing happened again today.* I was even home waiting to receive it. Who knew a gallon of IPA would be this much trouble.   :RUEffinKiddingMe:  And at this point I'm very scared about receiving any packages at all.   :scared:

Well I'm 0-1.   :P  Nothing printed but a thin layer stuck to the vat.  Will have to research...
