Looking for unwanted wheels from Kato Volvo tractor vehicles

I didn't post this under the Trading Post because I'm not selling or buying anything. Plus, I wanted to get a widest possible exposure to my request, and this seems to be the right section for this.   :D

Some of you might have upgraded those Volvo tractors (which came with undersized wheels) with more-correctly-sized Trainworx or other brand wheels.  If you kept the original wheels and have no use for them, PM me and I will gladly take them off your hands (for a future project I'm planning).

Carter @cfritschle do you have any you don't need?

I'm also hoping that the new batch of Trainworx truck parts will eventually arrive (the Chinese manufacturing debacle delayed those even longer).

Peter,

Sorry, but I am "repurposing" all that I replace.  As you know, they make great medium duty truck wheels.  I have a bunch of Showcase Miniatures Chevy Kodiaks that are getting new chassis and the Kato wheels.

Just curious, what is wrong with the medium duty wheels from Showcase?

Daniel,

The Showcase Kodiak has been around since the 1990s, and they came with the wheels modeled to the chassis.  (The entire kit consisted of three pieces; the cab, the chassis and the bed.)  It also had a rather short wheelbase, and was only available as either a dump truck or a tank truck.  The tank truck is still available, and I have a bunch of those.  https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/n_scale/n_scale_vehicles/14.html

The chassis cannot easily be lengthened, and the wheels (tires) scale out to only 34.5 inches in diameter.  The new Showcase medium duty truck wheels are great!  https://www.showcaseminiatures.net/n_scale/n_scale_vehicle_details/W24001.html

However, they are not compatible with the older chassis that is used for the Kodiak.

The Kato wheels (tires) are just under 38 inches in diameter, which is a much better size for a medium duty truck.

Peter,

I apologize for the hijacking.  But since Daniel asked, here is a photo of the Showcase Miniatures Kodiak chassis with an Athearn Ford C chassis modified to accept a Showcase Kodiak cab and Kato wheels.

The "Chevy style" D shaped fuel tanks on the Athearn chassis were made with Evergreen styrene strips.

And for the rest of the story, here is my first attempt to adapt a Showcase Kodiak to another manufacturer's chassis.  The white Kodiak is on a modified Atlas Ford LNT-9000 chassis.  The Atlas wheels will eventually be replaced with Trainworx wheels because the Trainworx wheels are somewhat smaller in diameter, and I think they will look better with the Kodiak cab.

The blue cab still needs to be detailed, but it does show how well the Kato wheels represent medium duty truck wheels.

No problem Carter and Daniel - this is good information!
But it looks like I'm out of luck trying to find some unwanted Kato wheels.  I have few sets of my own and I guess if I need more, there is always 3-d printing.  The Kato ones were just going to be an easy shortcut (and they do look funny on those full-size Volvo tractors).

If James Will returns to health, he offered some nice medium duty resin wheels/tires.

The Kato yard tractor uses the same wheels as the Volvo, so those also should be updated with Trainworx or Atlas wheels.  Maybe this will help expand the search.   :)

I have been using newer Showcase chassis to build Kodiak trucks:

Thanks Carter!

While I sure hope that Jim Will returns to health, I'm looking for the aluminum wheels (Kato resembles those wheels), not steel wheels.  I think Will Models wheels are the steel type.
