I'm on a point to replace all my older Hemtt's from shapeways

You see, the right M983A4 is the better one.
I love the very good detailed wheels.

Had those same shapeways 983s… consigned to the garbage bin a while back. I presume the 870A3 is another shapeways find?

Yes, the M870A3 is a modified lowboy from Shapeways.
Also the M870A1 is from Shapeways.

I haven't found a good one online yet.

What don’t you like about them? I’ve not closely examined the A3 yet, but the A1s I’ve seen in the background of your pictures look ok.

Yes the A1 is OK, but you can't buy it stand allone.
The A3 is a rebuilt lowboy.

Jim, if you have a 3D printer you can get the great Out Of Box Model one here. for $10 you can print all that you need
https://ootbmodels.myshopify.com/products/m88a1-tank-recovery-vehicle

for a M88A2 there is this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5251347  Scale to 90.0 or there about for N Scale. Turns out very nice.

Such great work!  When I did a WWII medium tank company, I found most of the work was painting and decaling the vehicles, followed by chaining them to the flats.  That look a lot more hours than printing!
