Chris333, Vdub looking good. She's a real low rider though. Love the headlights, but put visors on bottom, like a diesel!
Is that a nitro tank up front there, Chris?????
 Joe D

Joe, That is a 5 gallon air tank for the air ride. In the pic the car is sitting flat on the ground, this is what it looks like "up":

down:

The trunk lid fits on it fine, but doing any type of work to the wiring is a pain so I left it off for now.

Tim
Your layout is fast becoming a stand-out and I'm enjoying watching it develop each week.  Not to mention your wonderful fleet of Alco/MLW locos, top shelf.  With my interest in the Northeastern States, I often see photos of former BCR units working out their days in NY and PA, some still in green paint.  Most of the former E-L/BCR C-425s are still in service.  Need to go there again soon.

Cheers
Steve

Really good looking models this week fellas.  Even the bug my homeboy Chris has cookin'.  Cool.

Finally getting some work done at the modeling desk.  Like most everyone else I have a bunch of half done projects, one of which is lowering the ride height on a batch of MicroTrains gondolas.  I used the technique Mr. Bussey described in a long ago N Scale mag.  My only addition to the process is printing a template to make drilling the holes and placing the bolster replacements easier.

We also attended the Bunker Hill Train Show in Ranson WV on Saturday.  An old school show where, for the most part, everyone brings stuff from the basement to generate some cash.  I got a few deals on parts for future projects.

We then went to the Shenandoah Valley Fiber Festival at the Clarke Co. fairgrounds near Berryville, VA.  Basically spin animal hair into yarn, dye it and then make beautiful clothing.  My wife certainly enjoyed it given here creative bent.  It was kind of like a model railroad show in that the enthusiasm for the craft was evident among the attendees.  And it was a beautiful day.  Can't beat that.

LOOOOOOOOONG ago!  That was my first pushed article, back in 1994.

Readied the bed for Ponderosa River. Should be able to pour WS Water today. What are the best dams to keep this
creepy material for finding it's way to the front and the floor? I've tried duck tape, styrene, etc.

I'd recommend not bothering with poured "water." Instead, I'd paint the riverbed with river bottom colors of acrylic paint, then apply several layers of thick clear gloss medium acrylic.

Here's more info on how I do it.

Awesome modeling Mark. I've admired your layout for quite sometime! I do have a question though as something seems off to me; how do the maintenance folks climb on the engines or do work from the platform? Seems the railings are in the way? Thanks!

That little loco is *hilarious*!  It even looks like it has curtains in the windows!  :)

On the diesel house front I experimented with the order of assembly of the walls and how they will fit to the base, painting then gluing together the 12 elements that make up the long South wall.  Turning these...

into this...

And *yes* you *can* see all those fiddly interior bits through the large windows

Have a great weekend!
