DKS, those abandoned buildings you're doing are top notch. Great work!

Thanks!

One possible change..... big steam locomotive with a "large passel" of coal hoppers....just a suggestion.

Does this work? Deepest apologies to all the SPF’s out there for the stand in EL hoppers.    :D [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

"stand in EL hoppers"

In a B&W photo, unless one knows their railroad history, they don't look out of place.  There were billboard-style hopper paint schemes in the steam era, and these just look like another one.

It was the same way with BN Fs in the late 70s.  Definitely a modern railroad, but put a string of 40 ft grain boxes behind them, and they would have been right at home in the 50s.

Depending on what you used to make the image monochrome, if possible, separate the RGB channels and keep just the green channel, then make it monochrome. This tends to simulate the behavior of black and white film a little better.

EDIT: Example:

Then, if you want even more "authenticity," pull the blacks out a little and add just a tiny hint of sepia.

Thanks DK! I used Adobe Lightroom on the iPhone. It allows me to control each channel, just didn't mess too much with it.

I finished up a little scenic fodder. I modified a Classic Metal Works F350 into a light tanker. I need to scenic it's final resting place (I need some static grass and more trees), but I'm happy with it.

And I got a few cars ready for decals. Hopefully I can get that started this week.

Outstanding work on the tanker Karl!
The rust on your model looks better than the prototype.

That's actually very funny: "better than the prototype" 😄
Not that I disagree...

Thanks guys, I appreciate all the kind words. Tonight I knocked off another quick project, one of the Skally rail racks. Code 40 Rail on racks made per the prototype specs.
