Thanks Mark!  Your window making technique worked extremely well. Yes, there are many tricks that can be used with Alps printers to achieve desired results.  It does take some experimentation and some examples of the printer can do things that others can't  But in the end it is a wonderful tool.  I often use multi-layer spot color printing and non-native color ink ribbons to get solid ink coverage in colors not achievable with standard CYMK inks.

I know that I'm being a stickler, but since I have learned about it I try to use the correct terminology: those thin dividers in your windows are muntins, not mullions.  Here are the definitions for both.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muntin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mullion

Muntins are often confused with "mullions" (which separate complete window units), and "astragals" (which close the gap between two leaves of a double door).

I know that often information on the Interwebs is not ture, but in this case it seems genuine. I'll use "muntins" where applicable until someone proves me incorrect.  :)

SD-7/9's on branch line rails are a favorite of mine, so I have to have one of these

Started with a Atlas/Kato SD and ground the frame down, shortened the fuel tank and cobbled together the air tanks

Next up is attaching those stand alone air tanks and a few little misc details

The JD finally made it to its new home. Carpet was just installed yesterday.

PS - That bin on the desk has my DCC command station in it. Hopefully there’s a throttle in there to, and I can get her up and running soon!

I built a paint rack. I need to buy some more dowels to finish it off but it should really help organize the work bench.

...and wind sock :)

I may pass on these for now.  I don't think they arrived until after the plant was moth-balled.  Besides, I already have one nest.

While waiting for a few control panels to be reprinted for Chetwynd Yard, I have been working to solve outstanding issues with turnouts in the yard.  This has included filing down throw wires to clear trucks under locomotives, eliminating shorts at the frogs in a few turnouts, and installing a jumper wire to power a dead closure rail.  I have been testing with various locomotives and freight cars and operations in the yard are improving significantly to the point where and it is almost ready for regular operation.

ALCO C-420 No. 632 pulls two chip cars from the Canfor mill:

and hauls them through the north ladder:

I have also been working on some new freight cars which can be assembled fairly quickly, including six log stake cars from the Kaslo Shops resin kit:

With two tungsten weights in the centre sill and metal wheel sets in the trucks, the cars have a decent amount of weight to them.  Next up are brake details, splice plates and bunk/stake assemblies.

Tom,
Looks good! Here you go......

That's awesome! I didn't know any other RR's had SDs with the short fuel tank, other than the Milwaukee Road. Very nice.

A few weeks ago I decalled a pair of B&M RDCs. This weekend I made a photo-plank so that I can take better photographs of my models. Everything was going great until I looked at the pictures of my computer. The printing of the decals is quite obvious and rather distracting. Back to the drawing board.

:x :(, I recently had a similar issue with decals from them. My favorite line was from  :tommann: : They look like they're printed on denim!
