I'm finally taking some time to shoot some flicks of stuff I've weathered the last six months.  Here's a simple Athearn Hopper.

Faded with cheap craft paint and weathered with oils and powders. Added ACI and wheel stencil. FVM metal wheels. MTL "scale" couplers.

they...say we can't make this stuff up... but what else could we make?

That is a gorgeous weathering job Craig!  Have you been taking :tommann: s weathering classes, or is this a natural talent?   :)
I'm also curious about the road name and number being so crisp and clean.  Does that indicate that this car was recently renumbered?

Looking at the paint around the reporting marks (a "box") I am guessing the shops freshened up the reporting marks for some reason.

I occasionally like to add the reporting mark repaint patch on some cars, usually hoppers. Something the shop would do during maintenance if the reporting marks had become illegible.
Call it a bit of creative license on my part.

Thanks for the nice comments fellas!
