Keep in touch with Pat.
I've seen in other forums that he accedes to specific requests helping modellers in need.
He keeps a tight control over his hobby business, but is still a modeller at heart.

Thanks!

Follow-up news.

Trainworx — The ICG auto parts boxcar is on the water along with the other schemes.  Projected late July / early August release.  Some truck parts in stock but nothing will be released until all of the parts have arrived.

Any news on the various trucks and trailers that were due 1Q 2018?

Does anybody have any information about the prototype for this car? It looks like a depressed center flat car with side. What did it carry?

B&M well car. Early 20th century.

If anyone is interested, the banquet car this year is a 39’ tanker deco’d for Deseret Hive Supply honey, with a bee hive in the center.

See above report on product delays.

Additional Deluxe news - the tooling for the 53’ trailer and its variants also was lost, so it will not be returning to the Fox Valley product lines.

Sad news about the roadrailer and the Maxi-IV (hopefully that means the earlier Maxi-III is safe).

@bbussey are you able to clarify if lost means "unrecoverable from the factory" or something else entirely?

B&M well car. Early 20th century.

There were eight of them built in 1941. They were used to haul gears and turbine rotors from the GE plant in Lynn MA. Most were sold to GE in the early '70s.

I'm really excited by those slightly smaller Lunde buildings.

Hell yes! I was just asking a month so back about "middle of the block" mid-sized buildings being available anywhere.... some of those are perfect! Ya think Lunde saw my query on TRW?

Hmm, so maybe I should ask if anybody knows where to get the five-axle C-Liners used as passenger units.......

If they whipped one out in a month's time (due to your querry) then they work really fast!

In light of all their website surveys, was there any sign of a new product announcement from Kato?

That's what I'm waiting for!  It was reported several places that Kato is announcing six new releases at this morning's manufacturer's breakfast; three based upon new tooling.  No consistent reports if these are N, HO, individual locos/cars, passenger sets, etc.  From what I can see on the website, the Mfg breakfast should be over in less than four hours, so hopefully somebody will report back.

I don't think that many of us expect much correlation between Kato's website polls and what will actually be announced.  While they are an interesting glimpse into what modelers may be interested in, they are hardly scientific and Kato's marketing expertise extends far beyond just taking internet polls.  (I guess I just jinxed myself and today they will announce the 20th Century Limited instead of the NCL)

A few notes that I remember from the show speaking to the manufacturers.

Intermountain's Value Line is all old E&C/LBF/Hubert's etc molds. They have the majority of the molds, but haven't been able to confirm yet as not all of them were together with the other half.  They mentioned they would like to get skyboxes again, but will have to see if they have all the molds first.

Atlas is doing an all new frame for their units with now with DCC and sound. The GP series will take the same decoder as the IM SD40-2s. There are 4 tabs that come up make contact with the board, 2 for the motor leads and 2 for speakers.  They did redesign the frame to add some weight back after the weight removal in the fuel tank for the speakers.
