Why would they bother when BLI seems to have cornered the E market?Plenty of other former LL and Walthers goodies needed before these.

Nothing wrong with competition. I'm sure Atlas would be able to pull it off if they do decide to dust off the shell tooling. I'd rather a LL/Atlas E6/E7 since they got the dimensions right, IMO.
Adding to this, not everyone wants sound, and Atlas has a history of offering both sound and non-sound locomotives, which BLI doesn't. I like sound, but I'd rather have ESU Loksound than Paragon3, but that may just be me.What I really want is for Atlas to make a new mechanism for the SW8/9/1200. Something with better pickups and DCC integration, maybe sound too?
