Thanks Point353.  I'm now guessing that they would just release A units and save some tooling money.
If Kato really wanted to economize, they could skip the E7s and rerun the NYC Alco PA/PBs.

Here's an A-B set heading up the 20th Century Ltd in the mid-50s:

"I'd buy that for a dollar!!"  Actually, I would pay full retail.....  Thanks for posting that.  Those PAs look fantastic on the point of the TCL.  I wouldn't be a bit surprised to see updated models of those released in NYC at some point.  Looks like a great opportunity to sell me(us) some more great stuff.   8)

I've always thought the PA's were just better-proportioned and better-looking locos that the EMD E's.  Of course, I'm biased since the NKP used PA's and didn't own any E's (or F's, for that matter).  But still . . . the PA's seem more "right" on the head end of a big passenger train.

Breakfast quickie notes on projects in addition to Swaporama announcements. Not everything but some of the high notes:
KAT - SC 19Q2
But will Kato offer the correct power for the SC?

KATO already released NYC PA-PBs some time back, and number 4201 looking just like the real one in the picture.
I'd expect if they re-tool the bodies they'll have lit number boards this time.

They didn't light the number boards on the recent DRGW PA releases (the smaller side mounted boards like the NYC PA in the photo).  I suspect it was due to the frame requiring modification to do so.  The latest Daylight PAs did light the number boards, but those are the more forward, angled version.  I would guess they would simply decorate the number boards on a new release, similar to what they did with the DRGW units.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Now that the dust has settled, not much of what was announced is of interest to me personally. In fact, the 2 items I am looking forward to,(FVM wheels, BLMA details) are not even new products!

I am also looking forward to the NARC and ESM boxes, and the BLI tank cars look good too, might have to get some of those.  The Atlas /WKW announcement is good news, but I doubt anything I can use will be coming anytime soon.

Not one new loco announcement of interest to me this time around, so Mr. wallet likes that!
