The latest run of BLI E units are in stock at M.B. Kleins and presumably also or soon at most other retailers and internet shops.

Good to see. It seemed odd that they said they were in stores close to a month ago but the f units showed up first. Mine will be at the local shop soon.

I have both DL&W E8s on the way. Its going to be nice to have a couple of factory painted locos pulling my Erie/Lackawanna/EL  passenger train.

I told myself no more locomotives unless they are complete. I mean paint, DCC, sound, everything. I have enough projects. BLI called my bluff, I have one in C&O on its way.

It is curious that the BLI Fs in Penn have the Trainphone antennae, but the Es in DGLE do not.  The Es in the Tuscan in this run have a later paint scheme that appears to be 1960s, so the missing antennae would fit that.  The Trainphone was in use in the late 1940s/early 1950s when some of the passenger units arrived in DGLE, so you would expect the antennae on those.

Curious.

I noted the B&O E-6s.  I already have the LLs and like them.  Now, if BLI were to do E-6s rebuilt to E-8m s..........

That super late PRR one is awfully tempting.

That, my recent B60b and a random lightweight coach might make a fun "touring" train.

Previous BLI runs of the E’s in DGLE had the trainphone antennae. I have both an E7 and an E8 in DGLE with antennae.

Are you sure they do not have antenna?

The Tuscan are a photograph and do not show the antennae.  The DGLEs are drawings, but they do not show antennae, either.

The photos of the current production BLI F units make it look like the body rides high.  Has anyone received an E unit from the latest batch- and if so, does the body of the E sit correctly relative to the trucks?

Just got 3. All run fine right out of the box. Yes, they sit a little high off the trucks, as do the Intermountain Fs and SD40s.

Has anyone seen the Golden State E7s in person?  I'm wondering how the color is.  SP Daylight Red should be easy, but Intermountain/Centralia has a very different color than the cars I have painted myself with Tru-Color and ModelFlex (which are pretty close to each other).

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Are there any plug and play decoders for the E units that play well with DC?

There is nothing plug and play for a BLI loco except the built in Paragon 2/3 decoder.  You can remove the Paragon and substitute a wired decoder of your favorite brand if you like but due to the construction you will be doing point to point wiring on the chassis.
