Anyone going to make the NSE convention in Salt Lake next month?

I'm flying up from Vegas with my son in tow. Spending Friday and Saturday, fly Friday morning and out Saturday night.  Will be my first NSE show, only planning on hitting up the public show Friday or Saturday, or possibly both days.

I'll be there displaying my module with the club I'm in. It makes it easy when you live 10 minutes away from the hotel being used.

@Mark W and I will be there with a joint FreeMoNebraska / Silicon Valley FreeMo-N layout.  As currently planned, it will be about 12 scale miles to complete a full round trip. We will be setting up late Wednesday and Thursday morning, hoping to be operational soon thereafter.

What's the longest train you guys can do with your return loops and/or sidings?

Longest turnaround is 1.2 scale miles.
Shortest is around 14 ft.

This will be our set up in SLC this year.

Perhaps next year though...

So our longest train which can fit in the shortest turnaround ~0.4 scale miles

Just an FYI for everyone. There is an airshow the same weekend at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden. The Thunderbird's will be flying around along with many other flying machines. If you visit the Ogden train museum on Friday (practice day not open to the public), Saturday or Sunday between 10 and 5 you should be able to see some of the show as it is almost right under the flight path to the runway. Be forewarned though, the airshow tends to have close to 100,000 or more people on Saturday (I'm being conservative, I've heard as high as 200k but I don't believe it). Front Runner is going to be packed going north before the show and south after as they will most likely have a shuttle from the train station to the base. I-15 will also be a nightmare at those times too since it is the only freeway in the area. The arrows on the map point to the Ogden railroad museum and AFB.

I'll be out there Wednesday afternoon through Saturday night. It will be my first convention as well, really looking forward to it.

@Mark W @RBrodzinsky If you guys need an extra set of hands to setup, I'd be happy to help.

@dmidkiff Absolutely!  We'll need a gorgeous set of engines to warm up the rails!  :D

We'll also be hosting an operation session on the layout Thursday night after set up.

Sounds good. The GP35's are contest entries so I don't think they can leave the room until Saturday.  I'll have a set of F7's with sound though, we can run those.

Any attendees with DCC equipped trains will be welcome to run (hopefully we will have it up and running soon after lunch on Thursday [I have a dinner date with old college friends - they are the ones who got old, not me]).  We will have an extra throttle or two, but will also have JMRI WiThrottle running, so anyone with WiThrottle or EngineDriver app will be welcome.

That’s great to hear Rick - thank you for the invitation. I’ll be at the show for a brief 2 days - now I’ll bring an engine.
