May pre-order list from Atlas
https://shop.atlasrr.com/d-470-may-2018-n-scale-pre-orders.aspx

Personally glad to see the GTW baggage cars.  I know they are not accurate to prototype, but I can accept the difference in door spacing in exchange for not having to kitbash and paint them.

Also GP-40s for those looking for them.

I don't think the undec sales have gone unnoticed by Atlas.  MBK got in a few undecs today, but by the time I got there, best I could do was the last baggage car.

To reinforce the foobs, names and probably numbers also avoid genuine prototypes.

Anyone notice that prices on the second round of 60' passenger cars? The previously cheaper unlettered versions are now more expensive than the lettered versions on a lot of etailer sites. Ain't capitalism grand!

I got my "second round" car for the same price as my first round car (both unlettered, both $20 each), from the same online retailer.  That said, eBay prices have been consistently HIGHER than online hobby shops (although usually a couple bucks less than MSRP)- and generally not passing along the lower price on the few undecs listed there.  Can't say for bricks and mortar, since I haven't seen one of these in a B&M (closest hobby shop that carries trains is 60 miles, closest likely to carry these as a stock item is 100- so I just haven't been since they came out).Oops. never mind.  Now I see what you mean.  The MSRP for undecs on the Atlas site for the current pre-order has been raised to the same price as a decorated car.  Had thought you meant that restock that happened on several e-tailers a couple weeks ago (when I finally got my baggage car).  Well, so much for buying any more undecs....

I'm thinking this is an error. I noticed some coming undec cabooses had the same thing. @Atlas Paul

I need to go by my LHS and see these cars in person...

the MSRP has me double thinking this...  then again...  it may be something I need to bite the bullet on...

maybe I will pull the trigger on the DL&W head end cars for the local NKP passenger stuff I am running...

I'm conflicted on those 1970's principles...

1. Some people don't care about complete prototype accuracy (like we are).
2. Those people buy products with their money (and lots of them).
3. That money allows companies to keep their lights on and their people paid so that they CAN make cars with prototypical accuracy.
4. A smart company will do its best to prevent past inaccurate cars from damaging a potential future market for accurate cars.

Why all the hate?

Listen to customers at a LHS and its more like "do you have a caboose in blue" than "this Gevo is missing a dynamic brake vent"

Well for me

The decals need to be right (and they’re not) on the DL&W

Not sure how they messed that up

Unless Someone can show me the prototype

Are they wrong on all the cars, or just the baggage?  CNW cars had doors closer together than most.  The GTW suffers for the same reason, but because they could split it into 3 separate words, it looks more "natural".  I was originally planning several kitbashes to correct doors and stretch a couple.  But with the roof being cast on, I am rethinking my original plans.

Sounds like a couple of grandparents shopping for a toddler's birthday present at the local HobbyTown.
