Rod,
That's great, thanks.  I think one of the biggest reasons people visit sites like this is to get ideas for there own projects.  Good model railroaders often borrow from others.  Great one just out right steal 😁.

Haven't added much to this for some time.
I have been working on getting the foam mountain profiles in place between Cimarron and Poncha Junction then added plaster gauze to them ready to add all of the rock castings at a later date.
Whilst all this was taking place I decided to start construction of my Banta Sargents 3 stall Roundhouse kit.
Here some progress shots.

Roof of the roundhouse is finished just waiting on some doors to complete the build and then add it to the RR.

I did the roof as per the instructions in the kit however I staggered the joins in the tar paper so they would stand out a little more. I then with a small tip on my airbrush sprayed Matt Black on all the joins and seams. Once this was dry I then sprayed the whole roof with diluted Tamiya Nato Black. Again once dry an overall spray of diluted Vallejo Dark Olive was sprayed on the roof and on the walls.
Happy with the way it has turned out.

Rod,

The roundhouse is looking great.  What are you using for a turntable, a kit or scratch built?

Using a turntable from the UK. Kitwood Hills models. Its 65ft turntable takes up to a K28.
A good mate has two on his RR and all three work really well.

Exactly what I've used at Ridgway.  Great kit!

Well the Roundhouse is finally completed and is now sitting in place on the RR waiting for the glue under the tracks and roundhouse to dry before I wire the tracks in.
Whilst I was waiting for the doors to complete the roundhouse I put together the The Grand Central Gold Mine co kit. I know this mine wasn't located in the area I am modeling but hey its a nice size and will add a nice touch to the scenery once that is done.

I'm waiting on another mine kit to arrive in the mail however in the meantime I have started to assemble the Banta Modelworks RICO Outbuilding kits that when finished should fill some spots.

Rod,

The mine looks really great, kudos.  It looks like you've got the turntable installed, any chance of an overall pic of the turntable and roundhouse?

Here is the view you were after Scott. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
Just been painting the ties and the bit of un-weathered ME track. For the ties I used a combo of Tamiya Nato black, Rubber Black and Brown with a dry brush of light grey.
Track received a coat of Tamiya Dark Iron. Some rust will follow later today.

Rod,

That looks great, thanks.  What did you use for ground cover for the TT pit?

It's going to be a spectacular addition to running the railroad Rod. The turntable works a treat, and returning locos to the roundhouse or selecting another will just add to the operating enjoyment.

Been working on an additional mine kit. It is an old Timberline Red Mountain Mine kit that is all wood.
The kit was very old and it still had the original air inside with chimneys that are all solid wood dowel.
It is turning out just as I had hoped however I will change the roofing material to something a little better from what is available now.
Here is just a few in progress images. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

A little ways to go however it should be a nice addition to the RR once its warm enough to get back in the garage (train room).
