Hi Otto thanks it sure is a lot of fun. I am enjoying building these wooden kits.
Not sure about your other comment however.
Slowing down in my old age.

Long time since I posted any progress on my Monarch Branch.
Been quite busy adding a peninsular that was not in the original plan (permission granted from she who is in charge) and lots of scenery completed in Cimarron.
Just a few images.

Long way to go however happy with my progress thus far.

Rod,

You have made a lot of progress.  The layout is looking great.  Is there a lift out section for access to the stairs or is it a duck under?

Scott
There's a prototype for everything.
If you can't make it perfect, make it adjustable.

Duck under Scott, there is just enough room to stand up before attacking the climb. Thanks it is coming along.

Thanks Otto. It is, took quite some time to make sure the doors of my car would open without hitting the new bit. Lots of masking tape on the floor testing space and radii before the wallet opened.
Helens car now resides out in the street.

Otto, have done for 53 years thus far, she's not going anywhere.
Helen is a very big supporter of my hobby although she does balk when I suggest I need another K27, (you want to spend how much!).
However all's well except for the terrible bush fires off to our North East and in the state of New South Wales. They have lost over 2135 homes plus out buildings and too many lives. Many Millions of acres of forests burnt some never to recover such has been the nature of these fires.

The town of Cimarron on my Monarch Branch D&RGW is almost complete.
This is how it looks as of today with fresh out of the shops K27 #458.

It sure has that Gunnsion Valley look to it!

I assume you've been to the real Cimarron?  Besides C-16 #278, a boxcar, and caboose mounted on one of the Black Canyon bridges, they have a nice little museum with a stock car display as well.  Not necessarily worth a drive in and of itself, but if you're driving between Gunnison (thePioneer Museum is totally worth it) and Ridgway (where the railroad museum has built a quarter mile loop of track to run their RGS stuff) it's well worth the minor side trip.

Dave I have never been anywhere near the place. I live in Melbourne Australia.
Been to the US lots for business and holidays however had no need to venture to Colorado.
I used to model the SF in the Mid West in N Scale for well over 35 years and only ventured into HOn3 two and a bit years ago.
I knew nothing of Cimarron until I started the layout.
I've seen lots of shots and historical stuff on the web to help a bit however the track plan is not prototypical.
