Nice collection! I've thought about doing a layout like that, 8-12 inches wide, with some basic scenery. More of a place to run the collection than a faithful reproduction of a certain location.

I know a guy who buys up Brass HOn30 locos and if they don't run he sends them to Japan for repair. Each loco is around a grand.

He is one of those guys that doesn't like cameras, but when he did post a video it was just a circle of track down on bare plywood.

This guy REALLY needs chuff cams, or he needs to play with the CVs for the Chuff rate. I had to mute it, so I wasn't distracted by the locos doing track speed, but the sound running at 10 MPH.....

That just goes to show ya that having brass ones ...? I don't think he gives a hoot so much about scenery or weathering . He would appear to be a runner with just enough scenery to hide his wood . He then keeps his engines and cars in a test run condition for eventual resale . He well may have a track he can switch to to parade them where he entertains guests that is sceniced quite a bit , but to show that would be showing other views on the house he is not wanting to share .

Years ago I was on an NMRA 'layout tour' in a northeast city, and one of the 'home layouts' that was open was an otherwise nondescript frame house needing some work but not neglected.

On entering the house, it was essentially stripped of almost all furnishings.   But the living room and dining room were all glass cases, floor to ceiling, and all HO Japan brass.  It was absolutely breathtaking.   Professional cases, lit, everything identified.    Better than any hobby shop I'd ever seen.   No layout though, just a house full of exquisite brass, hundreds of pieces.

And seriously, nothing else.   The owner and his teenage son lived there.   Apparently recently divorced.   There were a couple aluminum folding chairs in the living room, a TV up on milk crate cases, and makeshift tables out of milk crates.    Not even any carpet.    You didn't ask.  You didn't have to.

I never forgot that one.    And I own just one brass steam locomotive in N.

That must have been some sight to behold!  Did you take any pictures?

I hope the guy has a really good Home Owner's insurance policy!  :D

Not to mention, this guy has more S1s than the PRR had.
