If you look at the artwork for the 3 bay hopper, it would be new tooling for N, but I'm pretty sure that Athearn just got lazy and used the HO artwork here and that these are the old MDC/Roundhouse tooling ... (either way the NS hoppers are foobs)

McCloud has been popular of late.  The MT and FVM versions were fooby but I guess this one is correct... and the exact same proto as Atlas just did this year.

Nothing for me, either.  The boxcars are just a little too new, the tankers much to modern, and I painted a batch of CB&Q hoppers a few years ago.  Micro-Scale makes a set for them.

I did see Athearn's new "little" original Challenger in HO last weekend at the WPM meet in San B'dno, and it it gorgeous. Talked to the rep about an N scale version and got a "not very likely" but not out of the realm of possibility. They need to see how their HO sales do. Other than a new six wheel tender and a new shell, modified pilot, they got it already....

Won't the Athearn (MDC)  and Bluford fill that bill adequately? After all looks like the same 70T models...?

More LPG tanks.  run just came in last month.

The earliest non stripe tank was 1995.  May be earlier build dates but stripes date them to at lest mid-late 2000s

I love that I can zoom into those PDFS and read the dates on the tank qualification!

I'm not worried about lettering and paint, I'm wondering about the car design and detail. Lettering and paint can be changed easily. I just want something a little more modern than Atlas's whale belly cars, something different, but in my era.
