I would buy every single one of those! I voted for the "400" as I was especially pleased to see it on the list.

I'm refraining from voting because I wouldn't buy any of them - they pre-date my modeling era. But I certainly wouldn't mind seeing any of them, although my fave would be the NCL in Loewy green.

I was hoping to see the Capitol Limited on the list, but oh well.  I don't really have a dog in this particular fight.

I'm curious why folks think that Kato would do an E7 rather than just reuse the E8/E9?  NYC had 62 E8s, so I see little reason that they would be compelled to release an E7 with the 20th Century Limited.

That said, I would really like them to release an E7.

Then do the rest of us NP guys a Favor and vote for the NCL!  :D :D

Since Kato specified a 1950's 20th Century Limited, typical diesel power at that time would have been an E8A-E7B-E8A.

E7’s would apply to a ton of different big name trailns and roads.  One can only hope!

Yep.  I prefer E7s to the later Es, just as I prefer F3s to F7s and later.  I'm glad to have them all.

THIS!
The Dreyfuss Hudson is the very essence of what makes the Twentieth Century so iconic....
Although not a collector, I'd buy a set with a Hudson. With E7's? Meh...

Exactly my thoughts!

Some would argue that the iconic piece of equipment is the Creek series observation car.

I went for the 20CL but no interest for a (Kato) E7. We already have a NYC E7 and a 20CL should be pulled by a Hudson :).

Marc

I also voted for it, and also disappointed that it it not the '30s version with its iconic steam loco.

Well, turns out you can vote as many time as you want.

I felt sorry for the CNW 400 being under appreciated and voted it up to 7%.  :)

I now understand how the 20th Century got so many votes...

This makes me wonder what new set we will hopefully see this year.  I hope the only offering isn’t the re-release of the COLA.

Unfortunately, I think that's it for 2018.  I really don't like the way this Kato poll was set up.  It splits the Hill Lines votes three ways (Twin Cities Zephyr, NCL and EB) and almost assures that the 20th Century Limited will "win."  If they had left out any two of the three Hill Lines trains, I believe that there would be essentially a tie at this point between the 20th Century and whichever of those three they kept.
