I finished the arched window Northern Pacific diner #1679.
I've been meaning to get into making some smooth sided cars for a GN train that used to run here in MN, the Badger/Gopher. I picked up two car sides from Union Station Products to toy around with, but I've been struggling with how to deal modifying some concor cars I have. In the meantime, I threw together a cheap way of making custom cars in BSB. Photoshop to the rescue! At least until my new cores arrive from San Juan Car Company this week. (Attachment Link)
Yes, it does look good. I could see using those at a train show, where you might not want the detailed models due to small hands getting too close. For painting your good models, BSB is easy to do. Paint the sides blue, and use a strip of white decal for the stripe. For brass sides, I painted the sides before gluing them on, so the only masking was for the gray skirts.
Worked on the scrap metal facility landscape and spur. The building is from the Superior Paper Company, and has been cut in half. The background buildings are pressure sensitive vinyl applied to the background.
