What a cool model and a cooler video !

What kind of curves does this one need?

We've had no problem running on 11" radius. We honestly haven't tested it on 9.75" as it was designed for 11".

Thank you. I have 11.25 and 15 so this should be fine.

I agree . . . but I need a layout again to run it on.

Re being expensive, just remember that the Turbo has two DCC locomotives with sound.
Take that into consideration and remeber they are accurate and very detailed locomotives and all the coaches are lit and are also very detailed.
Now compare them to the Bachmann ones.
I think you will find this is an exceptional deal.

That ain't gonna slow me down!  Think of Puddy and pull the trigger.  I'm just down to deciding which scheme I'm going to order.

Very tempting, but... just doesn't fit with either of my modeling ventures..

If Rapido decides to do the RTL Turboliner.. that's a different story.. I rode one from Grand Central to Rochester, NY in the 80s..

If our customers needed layouts to buy our models we'd be out of business.

Most of our customers don't have layouts. They are either collectors, they are members of a club, they just enjoy building trains, or they are buying equipment for a future layout, often planned for retirement.

While I do have a layout, I fall more in the latter category. I probably won't be able to host an op session on my layout until a couple of years after I retire. With three school-age kids and a company to run, I don't get to work on the layout all that often.

If anyone wants to buy Rapido, I can get working on that layout sooner...  ;)

Can the interior lights be turned off? And if itn't asking for too much can you start lighting up the number boards  :D It's the only quarter where Rapido trails Bachmann

Is there an N-Trak or Free-Mo near you?  I bet the Turbo will be a crowd pleaser at train shows.

I might have to spring for an Amtrak set even though my Conrail era is set in 1980.  The last revenue run was in late 1976.  It ran at times as the Yankee Clipper so I could do the same.  I would have to add the anti-vandal screens over the windshields.  8)

@rapidotrains  when you get a chance (during production or earlier) if you could post a pic or video of the Amtrak early paint scheme, that would be great ! Besides being the set I ordered, I also think the paint scheme is cool with the Sikorsky Aircraft/United Aircraft markings on the side. I've seen the MTH examples in O scale and it's cool that this set is soon going to be in N scale. Good times for N scalers !

@rapidotrains

Jason.... Totally unrelated question. Did you find any difference in truck centers of frame length on the Conrail B36-7 over earlier phases? Atlas had started the its a difference, but I can not find any documentation supporting this.

My theory is that the person doing the measurements used the length over the anti climbers rather than pilot faces.

It's Gareth's project so I honestly have no clue.

I suggest you fire off an email through our web site and he will respond. He's good at answering B36 questions pretty swiftly.

So after reading that Amtrak tried to sell the Turbo Trains to Illinois Central... This totally needs to be a Foobie Release!

Just found this on Train Orders -- I don't have an account, but I can see thumbnail photos..
There was promotional info for the IC Turbotrain with a paint scheme.
