Hi all,

We've uploaded a proper video of the upcoming TurboTrain, using the samples that Dan Darnell brilliantly painted.

Thanks to John Johnston for letting us play in his layout room!

Here it is:

Thanks for watching! The order deadline is March 26th. More information here:

Awesome you fanatic!

Oops the Penn announcer said "Turbo"!
Nice use of '1812' at the end.

Will the DC/Silent version include the Gyralite head and tail lights?

I don't have a need or want for this model, but that's pretty cool !  I'm sure someone is looking down smiling as this progresses towards a final release.

I have no need for a Turbo. It’s outside both eras I model. It’s expensive.

I’m *this* close to pulling the trigger and getting one, just because it’s cool...

Unfortunately no. We have no way of controlling them without the decoder. They will be "always on."

Jason:
Another fine video. From one Turbo nurd (US) to another (Canadien), one point to quibble in the video. It is my understanding that the third rail shoe was for operating into Penn Station, not Grand Central. When I rode it back and forth to college circa 1975-76, the Turbo operated on Amtrak’s Yankee Clipper schedule between New York Penn Station and Boston. Amtrak’s Rohr Turboliner did operate out of Grand Central from NY to Albany-Rensselaer.

When first put into service, the UA TurboTrain operated to/from GCT.

Me either.  I ordered one anyway, 'cause I've wanted one since I was a kid, and the 2 Bachmann versions I own just don't cut it.

But does the southbound station announcements come in a Boston accent?
"Bahstin"
"Na'Londin"
"Na'Haven"
"Naw Yahrk"
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

You know it did originally when we were doing the sounds for the HO model. Then a real Boston station announcer got in touch and said they weren't allowed to talk like that. He recorded a new announcement which is far less "Bostony" but more accurate!
