T Gauge SD70ACe

Inspiration was flowing tonight and I was able to finalize the T Gauge SD70ACe shell on Shapeways.

Due to Shapeways base pricing model, I added a three 50 foot rib side boxcars to the product at practically no extra cost, creating an American T-Gauge starter pack.

Additionally, due to material limitations and in order to keep the ACe reasonably scaled and maintain use on a power chassis, it is printed without long hood sides allowing the user to install .005" styrene or brass.

I think that even a 0201 LED would be too bulky.  The smallest fiber optics I have are 0.010" in diameter. Maybe that could be used with a small LED inside the shell.  :)

Back in the day, DKS used to be "Mr. T", so you better be careful - he knows a lot about the T gauge.   :)  It is too bad that his original website was lost - he had lots of examples of his miniature animation and lighting.  The working N-scale barber pole was my favorite (which I also hope to build someday - I still have his excellent write up with plans).  But so was the working excavator and a ceiling fan in a barber shop.

I have to say, things have come a long way.  20 years ago no one would have believed those aren't HO, N and Z scale.

If it wasn't for the Quarter and straight pin, I would have though that was O, HO and N scale.

Is anyone Working in ZZ scale?

I got curious too. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ZZ_scale

It is in between Z and T. Sort of like TT is between H0 and N.

ZZ isn't really regarded as a legitimate scale. There are only a very few items made by one company. Basically a novelty toy.
