Traincat?

Anyone know if traincat has made any plans to be up and running, or if he's decided to stay on hiatus indefinitely? The website is still up, though I don't know how old the message is. Hopefully everything is going well for them, I'm just curious if anyone has any info as their models are quite amazing and I've been eyeing a few for quite a while.

I hope he comes back to produce more of his kits. There are several I would love to have, but after what Bob went through with his family I can totally understand it if he's otherwise occupied or just doesn't have the heart for kit construction anymore.

I wish him the best and love is products, but I don't think he will be coming back any time soon. Our hearts are out with him...

Truth is ... I have not made up my mind. I sold a huge lot of kits to Tim Masyln at Integrated Signal Systems a few months back.

What I had been doing is completing a 33% Waco YMF-5D in tribute to Jamie. The registration number is for her.







My daughter graduated UF Med School and came down for the maiden flight

Glad you're still out there Bob.   You still have a lot of fans in here of your work, myself included, and I spent over a year just chasing down an N9E kit, and yes, it really was better than anything I ever imagined.

Thanks guys, it's been tougher than I imagined it would be. On the anniversary of Jamie's passing, I was the grave site and realized that I was celebrating her passing. From that moment on, I began to celebrate her life. So after starting the Waco 5 years ago, I finished it and maidened in June, the weekend before I moved Lauren up to Chi-Town. I take the Waco out once a month putting several flights on her. It really does help, and being back out with the other pilots that I have know for 25+ years is helping even more.

MK, The Waco is 118in WS, 54.5 lbs (My scale never goes past that weight , power is a gas powered DA-150cc twin, covering is ceconite just like a real A/C, .007 lithoplate covers the fabric and frame where there is actual metal, there are over 1100 actual #1 sheet metal screws on the litho, all graphics are painted on a basecoat of metallic Synergy Green and 2 coats clear. Yes Gary, Fly-By-Knight Aviation. Good or bad, I never lost my warped sense of humor.

Ceconite?  Never heard of that one but that's because it's the real stuff.  . Yeah, smart of you to keep it under 55 lbs.  . I'm an AMA AVP for District 2.

In life's challenging moments it's good to go and fly with your fellow pilots.  Some how greasing a landing makes you feel real good!
