Three New Rapido N Scale Locomotives Coming?

I haven't seen mention of it here yet, and I shudder to think about the amount of speculation and wishing that is going to follow...

But did anyone else notice that in posting an update about a new HO locomotive project (as yet to be announced) on Facebook, in response to someone asking if it was N scale, Rapido replied (and I quote), "We do have at least three N scale locomotives to announce this year though so don't panic!"

So, Jason @rapidotrains , any idea on when we might get an official announcement on these?

Someone please wake me if they actually announce a CN or GTW 4-8-2 or 4-8-4, or any diesel used in the US prior to 1956.  I want December 31 in the "choose the date of the actual announcement" pool.

My vote is for a New Haven 1-5 4-6-4 to pull those Osgood-Bradley coaches.

I would suspect it would be something they have already done or are doing in HO, with all the research and documentation done. FA and B1's would be on my wish list ...

A little birdie told me that Jason had an epiphany and will now concentrate on modern era Southern Pacific prototypes. Business will boom!

Well, an FA1, because I just had a LL one converted to DCC sound, and a FM CPA24-5, because I already built one w/ DCC. Rapido already makes a five-axle diesel....
I think the FA1s would be a huge seller, especially if they bring out road names that LL never did.

A completely different animal after rebuilding, which took so long it killed one one the rebuilders.  Above the corners of the sides is a completely different layout in regards to the fans and roof panels which would preclude the FL9 model from representing it... save for a foobie... not sure how Jason would feel about it.

Sad really... should have been a pioneering project that would have seen more units rebuilt but as it was it was an example of what not to do when it comes to contracting out work.  The rebuilder, Republic Locomotive Works, suffered two failures about that time, their other premiere project a Cummins powered rebuild that couldn't pull itslef out of a yard let alone cars.  Was an early Cat-rebuilder but decisions made left it without much of a standing... while the name survives its a good bit different of a company compared to what it use to be.

This line up is quite possible. I faintly remember reading Jason say somewhere that it may be cost effective for Rapdio to scale down already existing HO models.

Of course, the best way to confirm is ask Jason/team at the Big E  ;)
