Cleaning Bestine?

I've had a glass jar of Bestine in the freezer for a while now and it looks like all the wax has settled to the bottom. How do I filter that out?

You'll find most of it has stuck to the glass. I pour it into another container (empty Bestine can in my case marked "recycled") through a conical paint filter and funnel just to make sure no chunks of congealed wax make it through. Then I'll wipe out the glass jar with a paper towel until clean. Since I use a narrow olive jar for soaking shells, the towel has to be pushed around with a stick.

Would a coffee maker filter work if one doesn't have a "paint filter"?

Should work, just slower. We're mostly straining for chunks at this point.
