Eh, let the banter be.  It's all in fun.  Hell, I now model a railroad that was bankrupt and in receivership for all but two years of its life and never once paid a dividend to its stockholders.  A railroad for which--in its later years--you could rarely count on making it over the entire line without a minimum of two derailments.

EDIT:  I just realized...  Am I describing the Rio Grande Southern or Penn Central?   :D

There’s an obvious level of passion in your attitude toward the Pennsy that far surpasses “don’t like.” Sometimes I think you’re more passionate about the Pennsy than most SPFs.

That said, and at the risk of further feeding the Drasko, I’ll just leave this here, lest you forget what the Santa Fe bought from the Pennsy.

Eric, its not a passion by any means. Again its all in good fun, especially for some of the snooty modelers that let all of it get under their skin. I will admit that it gets a bit funny sometimes. Maybe it's from the years of thread derails by the "i want a k4" crowd. Its really nothing personal. I can appreciate good modeling as long as it's not modern era stuff.

As for the L1s, i was actually about to model a couple of them surprisingly enough! I think the santa fe bought(ill have to check my books) 10 and they actually sat in the dead line(reserve line). If i remember what was written in the iron horses of the Santa fe book, (for gods sakes don't anybody let their panties get in a bunch) the Santa fe wasn't impressed with them, so they got benched.

If you're still interested I might be willing to part with my L1s.  It's complete with DCC and runs like a champ.  Has the traction tire.  I built it in pre-war configuration like the photo.  You'd just have to put a big ugly silver number on top of the classy Clarendon "PENNSYLVANIA" on the tender.

Thanks Dave but they didn't make it to Cajon. I learned about them when i was modeling everything santa fe. It wad going to be one of those random projects because i had the parts to do it lol.
I have on the other hand been thinking about picking up some hon3 stuff though!

Somebody was badmouthing the PRR?...I have to go to my safe place now.

Honestly, I see nothing but fun banter, with one overly sensitive exception.. :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Oh well...  there goes a chance to redeem the aesthetic value of your steam fleet!   :D

EDIT:  Truth in advertising...  Ever since a family trip to Arizona in 1979, AT&SF in the desert has always been my secret railroad crush.  Kinda like @Ed Kapuscinski and FEC.  That my first train set was a Bachmann Crapmaster Santa Fe war bonnet freight set sealed the deal.

I can't admit i have a secret crush on the pennsy or anything but i do own plenty of equipment due to the transcontinental mail on the fast mail.
I do wish for and wonder why we don't have more santa fe specific models coming out, especially transition era models and steam. Granted I'm only 34, but its been said, if you slap santa fe oon the side of a model, it sells. It would be nice for BLI to bring their santa fe steam models to n-scale.
Its a money pit, but bringing steam to n-scale would really make more people start backdating their eras. Looking at ho, it seems they have more transition era modeling with model availability. N has more modern because mfg's produce the cheaper to make modern stuff.
Its actually been cool seeing all of the SPFs crawl out of the woodwork with now backdated fleets with the recent steam offerings.

If Pennsy were a man, I would do it with him.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

My apologies for being over-sensitive.  Last night was a bit rough, and I should have let it go.  Oh well, it's enshrined forever on the internet now!

If Pennsy were a man, I would do it with him.

You know, I have heard the Pennsy's system described as a man with his arms in Chicago and St. Louis, and his feet in New York and Washington.  So with you in Pittsburgh... :D

Oh yes you can...  We're all friends here.  It's a safe zone!   :D

Let us make the Sign of the Keystone in remembrance of Pennsy.  "In the name of the Curve, the Slope, and the Four Track Main."  Amen.

EDIT:  Remember this?  :D

"Our Pennsy
Who art Norfolk Southern,
Abandoned be thy name.
Thy trains be gone, though track goes on,
Through Pennsylvania, which is a lot like Heaven.
Give us this day our N scale K4,
And forgive us our foobies, and we forgive those who foobie against us.
And lead us not into HO, but deliver us from Kato
For Thine is the Curve, the Slope, and Altoona forever and ever."
Amen.

The One True Scale/Gauge was revealed to me by the Angel Blackstone, who spake thus:  "Whosoever modeleth in HOn3 shall not languish but have eternal projects scattered upon his workbench."
