Electronics kit

I'm wanting to have on hand some resistors, LED's, wire and capacitors for decoder installs. I'm looking for what values on the resistors are mostly needed for common sizes of LED's (0402,0603) Is magnet wire best and how to use it. Or should I just get prewired leds from eBay. Also what type of diodes would one need for in-rush current protection on a capacitor.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks

1K resistors will work for most of the LED’s . You might want get some SMT resistors too, much smaller.
I would go with pre wired LED’s unless you really want to spend your time soldering wires to the LED’s.

Unless you really want to do them yourself, go for the pre-wired.
