Many have noted the incorrect fuel tanks on the SD40-2's for these 2 RR in particular. I asked Intermountain today at Trainfest about this and found out that the frames are sized for the shorter tanks, but the factory fitted them with the larger, incorrect ones. If you purchased a Milwaukee or Soo SD 40-2 from the first run, contact IM for a correct replacement fuel tank FREE! If you have one of these, pop the fuel tank of to see for yourself!
The next run of Milwaukee will come with the correct tank, as will the SD 38-2's.
After chopping the tanks on about 15 Kato's, NO MAS! There may be some modified Kato units on Ebay down the road!
